I was having trouble installing. I got a message that I would need an updated driver for D347PRT.sys. I read that this driver is from Daemon Tools which I had used on my computer but had subsequently uninstalled. What I did not realize was that the uninstall left these drivers. In this new group I found people who said to uninstall D347PRT.sys from Device Manager and then, without rebooting, start the install. This failed several times.
I got my official setup dvds from Microsoft yesterday so I decided to try again. Also I examined the help under Daemon tools at work where I still have it installed. The help says that the file D347BUS.sys has to be removed by hand. It lists under system devices as PnP Bios Extension or something very much like that. Be sure the thing you are looking at is for D347BUS.sys. After removing that then re-boot. Neither D347BUS.sys nor D347PRT.sys should re-appear.
So, aside from using new disks, and I noted when I originally tried to install it downloaded about 130k of something before the install and last night it started by downloading over 200k so something was added there.
Now the installation worked very well. Everything seems great after the fact although I have not had much time on it yet.
I had other posts here about my problems but I couldn't find them today and I did want to share my success and what I think resolved my problem.
